How to convert and export Google SketchUp SKP files to STL for 3D printing

If you want to actually 3D print something you made in Google Sketchup, you need to convert the SKP file to STL. Have no fear, it's actually really easy if you follow these steps!
Download the free Sketchup-STL extension (the RBZ file) from https://github.com/SketchUp/sketchup-stl The latest version can be downloaded at https://github.com/SketchUp/sketchup-stl/raw/master/sketchup-stl-1.0.0.rbz

Windows: Then open up SketchUp, select Window > Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension and select the RBZ file you downloaded

Mac OS X: Open up Sketchup, select Sketchup > Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension and select the RBZ file you downloaded

Now you can convert your SKP files to STL by doing File > Export. You can even import STL files into SketchUp using File > Import!
